General Purpose Grey

Overview
This next set of tests covers two of the popular Datawrite mid-range brands The Classic Yellow with the TTH02 mid and the General Purpose Grey with the PRODISCF02 mid. The Yellows are available in 25 cake tubs whilst the greys can be purchased in 50 piece cake tubs

Under The Microscope
The drives we are using in this test are the most common ones generally in use
If you are not sure about your drive try and buy a sample disc pack from one of the online retailers or ask your local shop if they will sell individual samples just to be sure.
All the test results in this review are entered into my newly developed Media_Quality_Spreadsheet with the totals analysed together with the current market price of the media and the value for money is calculated.
My algorithms are incorporated into the testing software I use DVDInfoPro which is now integrated with LightningUK's Imgburn burning data to produce the newly developed burn speed graph of DVDInfoPro.
A recording has been made on each of the drives with Imgburn ISO burn mode and then tested with DVDInfoPro testing software.
Thee new features have been incorporated in the latest releases of the software which can be downloaded from this site HERE

If you click on the image of the relevant drive below the graphs will come up in a popup window.

Conclusion
These are mid range discs and the results vary between the tests drives with the Yellows being less favourable with the newer Pioneer drives but producing some good results with the other drives. The Greys however produce good results with the Pioneer drives with poorer quality burns with the LG & NEC drives. These medias compare in their average qualities and the value for money being within 2% of each other, their suitability will depend on which DVD burner you intend to use them in.
